Biography
Professor Yu Zong Chen obtained his PhD in University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in 1989. He then worked at Purdue University as a postdoc and at ISIS pharmaceuticals to conduct antisense drug design, Since 1997, he has been working at the National University of Singapore as a lecturer, senior lecturer, Associate Professor, Department head, and Professor. He pioneered the inverse docking method for target discovery, led the development of the popular therapeutic target database, revealed the distribution patterns of drug producing species in nature, and is among the first groups of scientists who explored machine learning methods for predicting protein function, drug target, ADME-Tox, and multi-target leads.
Research Interest
His research interests are in bioinformatics, cheminformatics, computer aided drug design, herbal medicine, art and science.
